The South Dakota Lottery has officially published the winning numbers for the Millionaire for Life drawing that took place on the evening of Sunday, September 13, 2026. Players across the state who purchased tickets for this draw are encouraged to review their slips carefully to verify whether they matched the winning combination selected during the routine nightly event.
According to the validated drawing results released by lottery officials, the winning numbers drawn for the September 13 Millionaire for Life game were 05, 08, 27, 40, and 46. In addition to the five primary numbers, the drawing selected a Bonus number of 01. Players must align their selected digits with these officially drawn figures to establish eligibility for corresponding payouts across the game's various prize tiers.
Millionaire for Life represents just one component of the broader portfolio of draw games offered by the South Dakota Lottery. The state agency oversees an extensive lineup of games designed to provide opportunities for participants aiming to win significant monetary awards, featuring a diverse mix of daily recurring drawings and multi-state drawings held throughout the calendar week.
Following the announcement of the September 13 results, state lottery officials reminded participants of the structured procedures required to claim prizes won in any of its sanctioned games. The redemption process is organized into distinct categories based on the overall value of the winning ticket, ensuring that both modest rewards and top-tier jackpots are handled through the proper validation channels.
For players holding winning tickets worth $100 or less, the redemption procedure is direct and straightforward. These lower-tier prizes can be redeemed immediately at any authorized South Dakota Lottery retail location statewide, where clerks can validate the physical ticket through the retailer terminal and issue the cash payout on site.
When a winning ticket is valued at $101 or more, it cannot be paid out over the counter at standard retail establishments. Winning tickets in this higher monetary bracket must be processed directly through the South Dakota Lottery administrative system to undergo official validation and processing before funds can be disbursed to the claimant.
To submit a claim by mail for prizes of $101 or more, players are instructed to complete an official lottery claim form and enclose the signed original winning ticket. These materials must be mailed directly to the central headquarters of the South Dakota Lottery, located at 711 E. Wells Avenue, Pierre, SD 57501, where administrative staff verify the ticket's authenticity.
Specific high-value prize tiers demand in-person appearance rather than mail-in processing. For instance, any jackpot-winning ticket for the localized Dakota Cash drawing or the multi-jurisdictional Lotto America game must be presented directly and in person at a South Dakota Lottery office before the payout can be authorized and disbursed.
In-person validation is also mandatory for players holding a top prize-winning ticket in the Lucky for Life game. Furthermore, secondary tier winners in the nation's biggest multi-state lottery drawings—specifically individuals who hold second-prize winning tickets for either Powerball or Mega Millions—are required to report to an authorized Lottery office in person to formally redeem their winnings.
The most rigorous collection standard is reserved for top-tier jackpot winners in the two largest multi-state lotteries. Anyone holding a jackpot-winning ticket for Powerball or Mega Millions cannot claim the prize at a regional office or by mail; the claimant must present the winning ticket in person specifically at the main South Dakota Lottery headquarters located in Pierre.
For regular participants tracking South Dakota Lottery drawings, the organization maintains a strict drawing timetable across all its available games. The Millionaire for Life drawing is conducted on a daily schedule, with the winning numbers selected every single evening at 10:15 p.m. Central Time, offering continuous chances for players throughout the week.
The two premier multi-state lotteries follow distinct weekly schedules that draw significant interest from local players. Powerball drawings are held three nights a week—on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday—at 9:59 p.m. Central Time. Meanwhile, the Mega Millions game hosts its multi-state drawings twice weekly on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 10:00 p.m. Central Time.
The remaining games in the South Dakota Lottery lineup follow their own consistent drawing routines. Lucky for Life conducts its drawings on a daily basis at 9:38 p.m. Central Time. Lotto America conducts its drawings three times per week on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 9:15 p.m. Central Time, and the state-specific Dakota Cash game holds its bi-weekly drawings on Wednesday and Saturday at 9:00 p.m. Central Time.
Lottery officials advise all players to carefully verify their tickets against official results, sign the back of every ticket upon purchase to establish legal ownership, and consult official payout charts for detailed prize breakdowns. Whether checking the September 13 Millionaire for Life results or preparing for upcoming drawings, participants are urged to follow all official instructions to ensure valid claims.
