Arizona Lottery Releases Winning Numbers for Sept. 9, 2026 Powerball and State Draw Games

Lottery officials in Arizona have announced the winning numbers for several major drawings conducted on Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2026. Players across the state who purchased entries for Powerball, The Pick, Fantasy 5, Triple Twist, and Pick 3 are encouraged to check their tickets to see if they hold a winning combination from the midweek slate of games.

The marquee event of the evening was the multistate Powerball drawing, which offered ticket holders the opportunity to compete for substantial cash prizes. The winning white ball numbers drawn for Wednesday night were 09, 40, 42, 55, and 65, with the red Powerball designated as 23. In addition, the Power Play multiplier drawn for the evening was 2.

In state-specific draw games, Arizona's flagship jackpot contest, The Pick, also produced a fresh set of winning digits. The six winning numbers selected in Wednesday's drawing were 02, 08, 09, 18, 20, and 40, giving local players another path to life-changing payouts.

Daily and in-state game players also saw several drawings completed throughout the evening. The Fantasy 5 drawing produced the winning numbers 01, 02, 05, 20, and 39. For the Triple Twist game, the winning selection was 02, 03, 04, 05, 26, and 38. Meanwhile, the Pick 3 Evening draw resulted in the sequential numbers 7-2-9.

For lottery enthusiasts looking ahead to future contests, Powerball drawings take place three times each week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. The drawings are held promptly at 7:59 p.m. Arizona time, with players required to purchase their entries before the scheduled cutoff time on drawing nights.

Entering the Powerball drawing in Arizona costs $2 per play. The game's mechanics require participants to select five numbers from a pool of 1 through 69 for the white balls, along with one number from 1 through 26 for the red Powerball. Players have the option of marking their own numbers on a paper play slip or selecting a quick pick option that directs the lottery terminal to generate numbers randomly.

The Powerball game features a total of nine distinct prize divisions, ranging from minor base rewards to the grand prize. Correctly matching all five white balls in any order along with the red Powerball secures the grand prize jackpot. Matching all five white balls without the red Powerball earns a fixed second-tier payout of $1 million.

Mid-tier payouts provide substantial secondary rewards for partial matches. Selecting four white balls plus the red Powerball yields a prize of $50,000. Players who match either four white balls alone or three white balls combined with the red Powerball each take home a $100 payout.

The lower tiers of the game provide additional winning opportunities. A ticket matching three white balls alone, or two white balls plus the red Powerball, results in a $7 prize. The lowest winning tiers award $4, which is given to players who match either one white ball plus the red Powerball or simply the red Powerball by itself.

To amplify non-jackpot earnings, players can opt into the Power Play feature for an additional $1 per game. This add-on feature gives ticket holders the ability to multiply their non-jackpot winnings by two, three, four, five, or ten times. The maximum 10x multiplier becomes active whenever the advertised Powerball jackpot stands at $150 million or less.

When it comes to redeeming winning tickets, the Arizona Lottery enforces specific procedures determined by the size of the prize. All authorized lottery retailers across the state are permitted to cash tickets worth up to $100, and retailers have the discretion to pay out winnings valued up to $599.

For prizes exceeding $599, winners must claim their funds directly through official Arizona Lottery channels, either by mail or in person. Those opting to submit a claim by mail must send their physical winning ticket, a completed winner claim form, and a copy of a government-issued photo ID to P.O. Box 2913, Phoenix, AZ 85062.

Players who prefer to process their claims in person must sign the reverse side of the winning ticket, complete an official claim form, and present valid government identification at a designated lottery office. Two main facilities are equipped to process prizes of any dollar value. The Phoenix Arizona Lottery Office, located at 4740 E. University Drive (480-921-4400), and the Tucson Arizona Lottery Office, located at 2955 E. Grant Road (520-628-5107), both operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, excluding state holidays.

Additionally, two regional lottery offices can cash winning tickets up to $49,999. The Phoenix Sky Harbor Lottery Office at 3400 E. Sky Harbor Blvd., situated inside Terminal 4 Baggage Claim (480-921-4424), operates seven days a week from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. In northwestern Arizona, the Kingman Arizona Lottery Office inside Walmart at 3396 Stockton Hill Road (928-753-8808) is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday through Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., with both locations closing on holidays.
